This last dispatch of 2021 brings the closing out of a very odd year. For me to attempt to put into words what 2021 was in my life would honestly be too challenging. This is an area in which I still need growth—transforming what’s in my head to the written word for you and others to read. I just do not think I could do it justice and think I would honestly leave more questions for you than answers.
But with that in mind, I can say I am honestly excited to close the books on this year. I am in a posture of anticipation and excitement for what is to come. I do believe that God is working in an exciting way, and I believe He is continuing to do a good and “new” work in and through me. I have no idea what the new is or will be, but I rest in my trust in God and excitement for what He stands ready to do as I yield myself to Him. Some of the “new” that God has done in me this last year…new ways to experience God, new eyes to see God, a fresh perspective of who Jesus is, and a deeper understanding of His Kingdom…brings an anticipation for more!
Here are some really powerful resources and tools that I have connected with or read this year that have been a part of some of the new:

Deconstruction/Reconstruction/Evolving/????
There is so much discussion and thoughts about this word “deconstruction.” I almost avoided this topic all together, but I realized that I would lack integrity if I did. Much of my year and past few years could be labeled deconstruction. For me, I would say it has been very healthy just peeling back layers of beliefs and thoughts as I grow closer to Jesus. I’m learning to shed unnecessary stuff and center my life around following Jesus and living centered in Him.
“Paul calls on us as followers of Jesus to aim the deconstructionist impulse not at the Orthodoxy of the way of Jesus but at the ideologies of the world.” - John Mark Comer

Spotify Music Wrapped
If you have followed me for any length of time, then you have heard my music taste is all over the map. It includes just about everything except country music. My top artists of 2021 were not surprising to me, but listing them out it’s a pretty odd pearling. Here is my top 10: Coldplay, Metallica, Bethel Music, Van Halen, Wilco, Gojira, Jesus Culture, Eric Clapton, Brandon Lake, and Muse.
