The gift that keeps on giving the whole year! Internet Trends & The Foo #ThoughtsFromTerry
Wow, I have had one of "those weeks". Basically, from the moment it started the week just took over and whipped me around leaving me feeling much more reactive than proactive. Oh well, it happens sometimes, but I am sure thankful it's Friday. On a fun note, I have daughters that are cheerleaders. Yep, it's official, Reese and Reia both attended cheerleading camp at OU this week and had a total blast! We have pom poms, outfits, huge duffle bags and a crazy upcoming schedule including football games on Thursday and Friday nights. Hello, new parenting season. #dadlife
Thank you sir, may I have another?
Feedback is a critical part of our lives. We experience feedback when we touch a hot stove or sip coffee, the pain or sensation we experience tells us something important. Same with feedback from a new iPhone screen, press and hold, and you get feedback that offers information. Other types of feedback would be personal or professional feedback. Maybe you have a service that comes and cleans your home or mows your yard and they are not doing a great job, you need to offer them feedback to get the results that you expect. Maybe your kids woke up on the wrong side of the bed and needed some feedback about their attitudes. Offering feedback is critical.
But, when it comes to receiving feedback sometimes it can be a little more challenging, it might rub us the wrong way. Does this happen to you? Have you received some feedback that may have struck a nerve, maybe you got your toes stepped on, or your feelings hurt? It happens! Something I have been working on, and recommend you do as well is shifting your mindset when it comes to feedback. Adjust your mindset away from feedback being negative and recognize that feedback is a gift. With this mindset adjustment, I find it necessary to understand all feedback isn't created equal. Some are more valuable than others, but all of it is important.
Let me close with this: Thank you, Anthony. This last week Anthony, a friend and reader of this email, had the courage to reply to my email and offer me some feedback. Anthony was very complimentary of this dispatch and the impact it has on his life, but then stepped out and let me know my grammar and writing is often subpar. So much so, Anthony shared it was distracting, and then he offered an excellent tip...a free online service called Grammerly. I am very thankful for Anthony and his feedback. I know my writing and grammar are weak, and I am now using the service and working to improve!

Interesting Products, Services & Music
Zero
I am always “hacking” something. It could be my thinking, my diet, or my workout routines. One hack I have become interested in is Fasting. Not so much the spiritual side of fasting, more on the actual food fasting and body and mind reactions to fasting. Zero is a very simple app that helps track and explain some fasting. Learn more about Zero here.
Apple
The big Apple developer conference (WWDC) happened this week, and they announced a few new products. You could check out this site and this site for details if you missed all the hype. The most talked about is Apple HomePod. Yes, HomePod. Not sure about the name, but the product looks as beautiful as I have come to expect from Apple. What Apple has learned from Amazon Echo, and Google Home is simple, it’s about Music. We will see how it goes for Apple, the HomePod is very expensive compared to Amazon and Google, but HomePod looks like it is competing more with Sonos and Bose as an excellent music device. I am not sure Steve Jobs would be thrilled about a product like this, but HomePod will be ready for delivery just in time for Christmas.
Foo Fighters
I LOVE the Foo Fighters. They are one of my favorite bands. June 1st they released the new single ‘Run, ’ and I have been listening to it on repeat. Such a great groove that is a killer addition to any hard gym workout. Check it out on your HomePod. 😀
