#ThoughtsFromTerry Dispatch w.48.2017
December is here! It does not really feel like December since we have had many 60-70 degree days here in Oklahoma. I am not going to complain...I really don’t like the cold.
Coming out of Thanksgiving, I loved seeing this on Product Hunt.
It’s pretty spot on if you ask me. So, how many of you talked about Bitcoin over the Thanksgiving holiday? Who bought Bitcoin, or any altcoins?
The Bitcoin craze is upon us. When I am getting text messages from pastors asking questions, emails from you guys asking, and it’s on just about every news cycle I think it’s time to send a dedicated email about it. So, here we go! As I type this Bitcoin broke $11,000, and Coinbase was struggling to keep its website up due to demand. Can anyone say bubble? Maybe boom?

Bitcoin is growing so fast it’s hard to find up-to-date videos explaining the technology and currency. I found this video to be fairly simple to follow and detailed enough to give the basics. However, just know the stats they share are way behind.
BitCoin, Bubble or Boom, What Is It, and More
A good article by the DailyMail in the UK covering many basics.
What is BitCoin, and How Does It Work?
The New York Times gives more basics and tries to cover the need to know elements with BitCoin.
Do I Own BitCoin?
Yes. I have bought and sold BitCoin some time ago, but more recently invested in BitCoin, and some other digital currency. Currently, digital currency is a small percentage of my investment portfolio.
How Do I Buy and store BitCoin?
I use CoinBase. I also own a Trezor digital wallet that I will be moving my Coin’s too. CoinBase only allows you to purchase 3 different Coins, so if you get into altcoins you will need to use some other avenues.
Do I Recommend Buying BitCoin?
I won’t give investment advice. However, no matter what, I do highly recommend you do your research and understand Digital Currency. It will have a place in our world and economy.
Jason Calacanis of This Week In Startup’s Interviewed Brian Armstrong, founder of Coinbase and Tim Draper about the state of cryptocurrency and so much more. A great listen or watch.
Nasdaq plans to launch a bitcoin futures product next year.
The news comes a little more than a month after Nasdaq CEO Adena Friedman called ICOs 'bleeding edge' and said "Nasdaq doesn’t tend to get engaged in the bleeding edge.' Nasdaq joins two Chicago-based exchanges, CME and Cboe, who have already announced similar products.
Bitcoin “a real bubble” and “a mirage” that does not have any real value.
- Warren Buffet
I could see bitcoin hit $40,000 per coin by the end of 2018.
