Dispatch w.3.2018
That is basically how I felt when the stomach bug invaded my life this past weekend. 48 hours of pure misery and only getting out of bed to visit the ivory throne. So thankful that is behind me, but it stole much of my time for this email, so forgive me for the limited content this week.
POWER OF PERSPECIVE
I hate the cold weather. Especially the type of cold winters we have in Oklahoma. Windy, humid cold with no upside of beautiful nature views of snow and terrain. It really stinks. Well...then I read this, and it offered a little perspective.
Six minutes: The amount of sunlight Moscow had in December. Not a typo. And you thought you were having a rough winter.
ROBIN & TERRY WATCH LIST
The West Wing
Hands down, our all-time favorite television show ever. I can not tell you how many people we have turned into this classic.
Seinfeld
My guess is 5 if not 6 of 7 nights, Robin and I watch a Seinfeld show together before we go to sleep. Our girls make fun of us and yes...we have a Seinfeld reference daily.
The Crown
A new favorite of ours. Robin loves these “timepiece” and history shows, and I love the excellent writing, acting and huge budget that produces such a quality show.
Madam Secretary
Ever since The West Wing, we have been in pursuit of a political show and none have been able to live up. Madam Secretary is good, but not on the same level...but I am such a political junkie and it scratches my itch.
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee
Not a new show, but it is new to Robin and me. We started watching these 15-minute shows on Netflix a few weeks ago. Yeah, we love Jerry.
RECOMMENDED WEEKEND READING
Give It Up
I loved this read by Tim Denning because it is such a part of Robin and my story. I think some of the biggest blessings in our lives came after we made huge steps that including giving up A LOT. The blessing of entering ministry was only after making one of the biggest financial sacrifices we could imagine. The blessing of being at Life.Church was only possibly by walking away from something amazing. And most recently, it may sound odd, but truly the blessings I walk in today and the strength of our family is only because of my ability to give up racing my bike. Give it up...a powerful principle.

Stop Watching the News!
This is a longer read, but I highly recommend it. I tease Robin about it often, as recent as last night when we were picking up our girls from church. I HATE Facebook! Hate it. I need to move on...so, back to the article. Ryan Holiday gives such solid insight to our media sources - an outside influence that ends up controlling our mental cycles and actions. It’s 2018, time to take control of our media intake and get back to living our lives.
BITCOIN TIDBITS
January has not been a good start for Crypto. Rolling into this week, it had been rocky, but this week the bottom fell out. Wednesday Bitcoin dipped below $10k, alt-coins were being crushed and panic had entered the minds of any newer Crypto investor because all the headlines looked like this: The Bloodbath Continues! However, more seasoned investors put on their HODL hoodies or t-shirts and are reminded they have seen this before.
In these times, it’s often a great reminder to stay disciplined and focused on your strategy. I enjoyed this podcast. Crypto Bobby had some good thoughts and reminders for all.
Crypto and your Taxes
It’s tax time here in the United States. For those of you reading from other parts of the world, this more than likely is not going to be for you. But, getting your taxes right when it comes to Crytpo investments is important. I recommended listening to this podcast for some great thoughts and tips:

Kodak and Bitcoin
This past week, Kodak (yes, the old school camera company) entered the Bitcoin market with some new products. They announced a Blockchain concept, as well as “renting mining rigs.” This announcement came under major scrutiny. Critics believe the mining rigs are a scam, along with the concept that Kodak went to market with - it does not make financial sense. Nonetheless, Kodak stock price tripled in less than a week. Crazy!

Mark Cuban’s NBA Team Mavericks to Sell Tickets for Bitcoin “Next Season”
Cool to see a NBA team fully embrace Bitcoin and Ether as payment. Not surprising it’s Cuban’s Dallas Mavericks. Those could be really expensive basketball tickets.
